Holter Monitor Service – Now available at our practice

Narangba Doctors has partnered with CloudHolter Pty Ltd to provide an In-House Holter Monitor Service at our practice to all our patients.

We believe that our patients need caring

What is a Holter Monitor?

A Holter monitor is a small, portable device that continuously records your heart’s electrical activity (ECG) over an extended period, usually 24 to 48 hours or longer if required. It is worn under your clothing and connected to your chest with small adhesive electrodes while you go about your normal daily activities.

Why is a Holter Monitor Used?

A Holter monitor helps doctors detect heart rhythm problems that may not appear during a short ECG test. It is commonly used to investigate symptoms such as:

  • Palpitations or irregular heartbeat
  • Dizziness or light-headedness
  • Fainting or near-fainting episodes
  • Chest discomfort
  • Unexplained shortness of breath

It can also be used to monitor known heart conditions or assess how well heart medications are working.

Benefits of Having Your Holter Monitor Fitted at Our Medical Centre

We now offer Holter monitor fitting onsite at our practice, making the process easier and more convenient for our patients.

Key benefits include:

  • Convenience: No need to travel to an external provider
  • Time-saving: Fitting and instructions provided during your appointment
  • Comfort: Device fitted by our trained clinical staff in a familiar setting
  • Faster results: Prompt data processing and review by your doctor
  • Continuity of care: Your GP remains closely involved throughout the process

Cost

$150/ (no Medicare rebate or concessions available). Once the monitoring period is complete, you simply return the device to our practice, and the results will be reviewed and discussed with you as soon as they are available.

How to Book

Please speak with your GP or contact our reception team to book a Holter monitor appointment or to find out if this test is suitable for you.
